We are a Frome-based Community Interest Company (CIC) proudly grounded in the lived experience of Autism, ADHD, and Dyspraxia.
Our mission is simple: to empower neurodivergent young people and "SEND-betweeners" by providing the safe, low-demand, and inspiring spaces they need to excel on their own terms. We don’t look at anyone through a lens of deficit, and we aren't here to "fix" anyone. We are here to build a tribe where thinking differently is recognised as a profound strength.
Somerset Tribe bridges the gap between mainstream educational environments and the specific sensory, emotional, and cognitive needs of neurodivergent youth. By leaning heavily into student special interests and a peer-led, double-empathy approach, we create spaces where young people can truly drop the mask.
Our core provisions are split into two distinct pathways:
Specialist, sensory-aware academic support in the evenings and daytime home-education (EHE/EBSA) provision designed to build confidence, reduce school-related anxiety, and spark curiosity in science beyond the rigid national curriculum. 👉 Explore STEM Tutoring & Mentoring Options
An inclusive, high-energy strategy space led by an elite chess master. Perfect for young players looking to master the board, build lasting community connections, and develop critical thinking in a social, low-pressure environment. 👉 View Chess Club Times & Registration
We believe that high-level learning beyond the national curriculum and genuine social connection only happen when sensory, interst and emotional needs are fully respected.
As a registered Community Interest Company, Somerset Tribe CIC operates under a strict asset lock. This means every single penny we raise, and every grant we secure, is legally locked in and completely reinvested back into the Somerset neurodivergent community to expand subsidised support, fund community equipment, and keep our clubs accessible to the families who need them most.
